In the latest weekly update Bungie included some very cryptic text:

Atmosphere evacuation and [reduction of ambient temperature] protocols have already been enacted. Request maintenance and security detail [at earliest opportunity]. [8 minutes] elapsed since initial containment failure.

LF.Xx.3273 research and containment facility; [delta site] has experienced a security breach via emergency [slip stream space] transportation conduits. Emergency [slip stream space] transportation conduits have been placed in recursive mode to contain unauthorized hostile lifeforms. Request emergency security detail. REPORT: DERELICTION OF DUTY
2401 [PENITENT TANGENT] has been lax in the areas of maintenance and security.
But the big question is why, some have theorized that it’s the start of a new ARG (Alternate Reality Game) others think that it’s promoting their new map pack. Either way it seems to give us another glimpse into the halo-verse and it certainly set their forums alight with the thoughts and words of their loyal followers. Myself included….
In addition to this cryptic weekly update 7 “superintendent” accounts have appeared who’s purpose is unknown. Very strange, I think something big is around the corner.
